Regis Philbin on hand to kick off Homeless dance

Dance for the Homeless will take place from noon April 19-20 and will feature Regis Philbin during the opening ceremony at noon Saturday and again at 6 p.m.

The 24-hour fundraiser, organized by the Indiana University South Bend Student Government Association and Center for the Homeless, is an event during which dancers will remain on their feet for 24 straight hours to show support for our homeless population.

Bands performing include Blammo, Vyagra Falls, Stillshot, Cornell Bass, Livewire Project and New Colossus, who will play until the last dancer is standing

In addition, local television and radio stations are planning to broadcast from the dance marathon.

Proceeds from the dance will benefit the Center for the Homeless, a nationally recognized residential facility.
